We're getting there...

I spoke with our builder on Friday and we are about halfway through this project.  He anticipates that we have six more weeks of work.  The rough-ins are still in progress.  The air vents and the plumbing rough-ins are finished.  Thank you to all of my awesome neighbors and friends for letting us use your bathrooms!  The water is officially back on! The electrician was here yesterday, but was not here today. He left his equipment, so I think that is a good sign that he will be back.

Over the past few weeks, our house has been jamming with music.  The site manager - Wreck-It-Rod - rocks out to extremely heavy metal. The plumbers enjoy classic rock. The electrician listens to country music. And the HVAC guy works in silence (officially my favorite sub).

In other news, the fireplace is finished! The gas insert installer finished today and I am so happy with how it looks. I would definitely fire it up and use it if it wasn't already 98% humid today!

Here are few pictures from our adventures:
Um, I really don't like the new location of the toilet...

The fireplace is finished!  The fireplace is finished!

The Steel is Set!

There has been a LOT of demolition in our house over the last few weeks. All in preparation for the steel beam being set. It is finally in! Quite a bit of analyzing was requited to figure out how to re-run our ducts, pipes and electrical now that the wall is gone. In the end, they found a way to make it all work.

This is the intersection of all of the support beams.
It is also the section that caused the most headaches!
The fireplace tile is finished! Next week the gas insert will be installed.
The mantel is actually straight, but for some reason it looks warped.
