Yes, we have had the case of the disappearing contractor. He's had jury duty, he's been ill, he's been slammed with other jobs, he's gone snowmobiling, he's shown up hours (and days) from when he said he'd be here. It doesn't help that I broke the cardinal rule of contract negotiations and paid him in full after he told me he would finish up the entire job, "that afternoon" - three weeks ago. Yes, I learned my lesson, but at least he didn't run off without finishing the job. He is just not in a hurry to complete a project that he's already been paid for...
